UPDATE: The boy killed in a 4-wheeling accident in Kane County last week has been identified.
Police said 13-year-old Colton R. Hansen from Eagle Mountain, was riding his four-wheeler with friends and family at the time of the accident. At approximately 5 p.m., Hansen went over a dune and tumbled down the other side multiple times; sustaining fatal injuries.
Hansen was wearing a helmet and had the appropriate flag attached to his machine at the time of the accident. He had also completed the required OHV Youth Education course.
KANE COUNTY (News4Utah)- A 13-year-old boy is dead after a 4-wheeling accident at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes.
Officials say the boy was riding a 4-wheeler with friends and family Thursday when he went over a dune and tumbled down the other side. His injuries were fatal, Utah Sate Parks spokesperson Devan Chavez said.
The boy’s family rushed him from the scene to the park’s visitors center where they met medical personnel, but unfortunately, after several attempts at CPR he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s identity has not been released, but Chavez says he was from Utah County.
