A Cedar City mother, wife, sister, and friend lost her life while attending a Jason Aldean concert with her family on Sunday.
Heather Alvarado, 35, is one of at least 59 people who were killed in the shooting, which is now the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Her husband Albert Alvarado is a member of the Cedar City Fire Department. They told ABC4 for awhile her husband had no idea where she was. They say he sat in the convention center with three other firemen waiting for news on his wife. Tuesday morning, police confirmed with ABC4 Heather had died.
Albert remembers Heather as a person who “always saw the good in others.”
The Cedar City Fire Department Ladies Auxilary group is doing a fundraiser for the family. They are selling cookbooks for $10.
Police say an account has been opened at State Bank of Southern Utah in Heather Alvarado’s name if you would like to contribute.
A GoFundMe has also been created to help the family with expenses.
Heather leaves behind husband Albert and three children.
Thursday night, Southern Utah University has planned a vigil in honor of the victims.
