CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- A 13-year-old boy is dead after police say he was hit by a car while playing night games.

His family says Noehren Eggett was known by his friends as “Dory”. According to police, Egget was playing night games Saturday, Sept. 16th, when he was hit by a car on Cross Hollow Road near Walmart. Police say the driver was going about 40 miles per hour.

He was knocked unconscious and suffered a severe brain injury and later died from his injuries. His family says the driver was not a fault and “[Their] thoughts and prayers continue to go out to him, too.”

Close friend of the family has set up a memorial fund to help the family with funeral costs. “The silver lining behind this heartbreaking story is that Noehren’s body is in excellent physical condition and the doctors are hopeful that he will be a strong organ donor for up to six people!” The friends said.
