Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC) is opening its 48th season with a play with a mouthful of a title.
“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City” is running September 12 through October 21.
Executive Artistic Director Cynthia Fleming says the story is “filled with heart, humor, and deep human connection.”
It’s a romantic comedy about an unlikely pair that meets in an unlikely place for romance: the bedsides of their dying mothers.
The playwright Halley Feiffer drew on and sensationalized real-life experiences when writing this piece. Her mother battled ovarian cancer when she was in her 20s.
Single tickets for the entire season are currently on sale. More information about the full season can be found at www.saltlakeactingcompany.org or by calling the box office at (801) 363-7522.
