LONDON, United Kingdom (ABC4 News) Valet parking is a luxury that makes getting out and about easier, now it may be done human-less.
Later this year, London’s Gatwick Airport, the second largest in the UK, plans to test a robot parking system.
The new service could help fit more cars into the current parking lots. Robot valets would also bring vehicles back to travelers when they return by tracking flight details.
The parking experiment should be ready for testing by August and last three months. If everything goes well, they could pack 85,000 robot-parked cars into spots that currently hold 6,000 self-parked vehicles.
