Red Cross Talks Nepal, Military Appreciation Month

May is Military Appreciation month, and you could definitely say that the Red Cross was “born on the battlefield.” First in Europe during WWI, and then in America by social activist Clara Barton around the time of the Civil War.
The mission of the Red Cross service to the Armed Forces is to provide humanitarian support to military members, veterans, and their families around the clock, around the globe, under a trusted symbol.  Support includes providing emergency communications, comfort, and assistance that includes the transition services from military to civilian life.
The Red Cross provides help in person wherever it is needed – alongside the troops throughout the world, in military and veteran medical facilities hospitals, on stateside military installations and in communities off base. Whether a family is facing its first deployment or the next of many, the American Red Cross has information, workshops and support services to help with practical and emotional challenges.

To honor Utah’s military members, the Utah Red Cross will be hosting a Veterans Resource Fair on Saturday, May 16th. Details are listed below.
