John Curtis sworn into office


WASHINGTON, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Former Provo Mayor John Curtis is now officially a United States Congressman. Curtis who was elected last week was sworn in Monday taking the spot of former Representative Jason Chaffetz.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan: And that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which you are about to enter so help you God.

John Curtis: I do.

Ryan: Congratulations you are now a member of the 150th Congress.

Representative Curtis’ resignation as Mayor of Provo went into effect Monday. A member of the Provo City Council will fill in as interim mayor until the newly-elected mayor Michell Kafusi is sworn in early next year.
