Partisan school board elections ruled unconstitutional, what’s next?

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) –The State of Utah’s effort to make school board candidates affiliate with a political party suffered a  setback this week when Judge Andrew Stone ruled that it was a violation of the state Constitution.

Sheryl Allen with Utahns for Public Schools and Carol Lear with the Utah State Board of Education stop by Inside Utah Politics to discuss their thoughts on the ruling.

” I see it as a victory for the people of Utah and adherence to the Utah constitution,” said Allen. 

They also break down the reasoning behind the court ruling decision and what they expect to see happen next.
