A look back on some of 2017’s biggest political stories

Inside Utah Politics

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – With 2017 coming to an end we take a look back at some of the biggest stories to make headlines in the world of politics over the last year, from Operation Rio Grande to Jason Chaffetz’s resignation.

Salt Lake Tribune Political Columnist Robert Gehrke stops by Inside Utah Politics to talk about some of this year’s most surprising and influential political stories.

“I think so much of what we saw in 2017 was sort of triggered by the election in 2016. So the election of President Trump put all of these wheels in motion that we saw play out as the year unfolded.” Gehrke said.

The president’s decision to shrink some of Utah’s national monuments also makes this year’s list.
