Police Seek Suspect in allegded Abduction and Possible Homicide in Duchesne County

ROOSEVELT, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police are looking for a suspect involved in alleged abduction and possible homicide in Duchesne County Friday night. 

Police said two individuals reported being abducted at gun point from a residence near Roosevelt City in Duchesne County by 34-year-old James Main Jr. They told police Main allegedly forced them into a vehicle and had them take him to a residence in Roosevelt. Once they arrived at the residence, a struggle with someone else at the home and the victims broke out. Main then fired a shot at them and took off in their vehicle.

The victims vehicle was later recovered in north Duchesne County, but Main has not been found. 

Deputies also discovered the body of a 56 year-old male at his home in west Duchesne County during the initial investigation into the abduction. Homicide investigators believe there could be a connection between the two crimes.

The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and Roosevelt City Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Main. He is believed to be driving a 2000 white Ford F250 extended cab truck with a wench hoist in the back, license plate number A020NK.
