HURRICANE, Utah (News4Utah) – A southern Utah man is in jail, accused of sexually assaulting a 65-year-old Hurricane woman.

Police were called to a home around 12:30 a.m. Monday on a trespassing call.

The suspect, identified as David J. Diaz Vega, who is apparently known to the victim, entered through an unlocked door.

Ken Thompson with the Hurricane Police Department says what happened next was horrifying.

“He began kissing and touching her inappropriately in a sexual manner. She asked him to stop, asked him to leave several times, and he refused to do so. He put his phone on the charger took his shirt and shoes off and eventually climbed into her bed. And that’s where he was when officers arrived, “said Thompson.

Thompson said he was cooperative and was arrested without a struggle. Police described Diaz as an acquaintance of the victim.
