GRAND COUNTY (ABC4 News) Grand County agencies responded to the backcountry to perform a technical rescue Monday evening.
Around 4 p.m. Monday, Grand County dispatch received a 911 call about a paraglider with serious injuries.
Officials said the paraglider launched from the Castleton Tower area and crashed shortly afterward.
The paraglider crashed in difficult terrain that required a technical rescue by Grand County Search and Rescue.
The patient was treated by EMS on the scene before they were transported to the St. Mary’s Medical Center via medical helicopter in serious condition.
