SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – 9th and 10th graders will be taking the new Utah Aspire Plus test this year which will replace their SAGE testing.
The Aspire Plus was created in collaboration with ACT and Pearson and is the first hybrid test of its kind in the nation.
The Aspire Plus will cover the Utah CORE standards while functioning as an ACT practice test. It will be timed and be taken on a computer so students and parents can see scores almost instantly.
Educators hope that this test will increase the number of Utah students scoring over an 18 on the ACT, the Utah benchmark for college readiness.
Parents with questions about the Utah Aspire Plus test should speak with their local schools.
