SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- Salt Lake Community College opened a new center to train people looking for a job. They call it the Westpointe Workforce Training and Education Center. Not only will it help the individual students, but the city believes it will help the community.

Located in Salt Lake City’s Industrial Northwest Quadrant, the new facility will be integral to the Wasatch Front’s long-term economic vitality. The new facility will support the community’s training needs in a flexible space hoping to benefit business, industry and the community for decades.
13 programs are housed at Westpointe offering a wide range of short-term certificates and Associates degrees.

Diesel Service Technician
Diesel Service Technician and Driver
Diesel Systems Technology
Engineering Design/Drafting Technology (AAS Degree)
Engineering Design/Drafting Technology (AS Degree)
Manual Machinist
Plastics Injection Molding Technology
Professional Truck Driving (CDL)
Solar Photovoltaic – Sales
Solar Photovoltaic – Installation
Welding Technology
Welding Fabrication and Inspection
