Tuesday marked the 32nd day of the government shutdown and it’s impacting the FBI. The FBI Agents Association has collected information from special agents around the country on the impact of the shutdown on their investigations.
The organization says the shutdown is undermining FBI agents’ work on counter-terrorism, drug and gang enforcement, child protection and trafficking, and other types of criminal and national security matters.
FBIAA President Tom O’Connor says, “The agents and support employees will continue to do the very best we possibly can with what we have, but that is getting much more difficult day by day.”
13,000 FBI employees are set to miss their second paycheck on Friday, forcing some to rely on agency food drives for groceries.
