MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Unified police say the fugitive from Wednesday morning’s SWAT operation turned himself in to detectives.

Police say media coverage put the pressure on Keison J. Kuykendall to the point that he turned himself in.

Unified police are on the hunt for 19-year-old Keison Kuykendall. They believe he is the last person wanted for murdering 46-year-old Darrin Jackson and shooting Jackson’s son Jonathan in the arm.

Detectives arrested Josh Nguyen and Damian Garcia earlier this month.

Police tell Good4Utah the Jacksons were hosting a party at an apartment in Holladay on May 21st.

Officers believe Garcia, Kuykendall and Nguyen are apart of a rival gang who wanted to start a fight.

“The victims father interceded and he too was shot. We believe almost an execution to some extent. Just a brutal murder,” said Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder.

Detectives believe they saw Kuykendall early Wednesday morning at 7933 Main Street in Midvale.

“Metro Gang Units were in the area and had eyes on the suspect,” said the Sheriff.

One woman came out of the home stating Kuykendall was not inside.

“Did not see him go into the home but again the proximity was such that it was logical to assume,” said Sheriff Winder.

Police decided to call area SWAT teams and negotiators to the scene. Officers blocked Main Street from Center Street to Wasatch Street.

“We called out SWAT, contained the residence and went in and began to clear it. We did so in a methodical  way because we believe this individual is very dangerous,” the Sheriff added.

SWAT Teams cleared the home and Kuykendall wasn’t inside.

“When you have three individuals arrive at a killing and are closely linked, we got to get them all in custody and sorted out,” said Sheriff Winder.

Kuykendall is believed to be armed and dangerous.

The Sheriff is asking the public to call 801.743.7000 if you have information on his whereabouts.
