OREM, Utah (ABC4 Utah) A student allegely stabs five of his classmates before he is stopped. All the victims’ are expected to survive.
It happened just before school was to begin at Mountain View High School in Orem Tuesday. Police say it happened inside a locker room in the gym.
A 16-year-old is accused of stabbing five of his classmates and according to police then turned the knife on himself.
All five students were rushed to nearby hospitals and are expected to make a full recovery according to police and a spokesperson for the Alpine School District.
Police say teachers and a resource officer stopped the young suspect.
“Our school officer responded very quickly and was able to find staff members who had already placed themselves in harms way, had already boxed the suspect in a corner of the locker room. The suspect still had a knife at the time. Our school resource officer as well as other responding officers were able to get there and they tased him and were able to take him into custody,” said Chief Gary Giles with Orem Police Department.
