SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) – While Utah football fans wait for an announcement on a new offensive coordinator, they got some great news Monday afternoon.
Running back Zack Moss, defensive back Julian Blackmon and defensive linemen Leki Fotu and Bradlee Anae all announced they would return to school for their senior seasons and not enter the NFL Draft.
Moss may be the biggest announcement, seeing how the Utah running game suffered after he went down with a season-ending knee injury after the Arizona State game. Moss rushed for 1,092 yards and 11 touchdowns despite missing the final five games of the season.
“I want to stay in school and finish my degree,” Moss said. “I’ll be the first person in my family to get my degree and that is important to both my mom and to me. I also want to be a part of our team goals for next year and graduate with (high school teammates) Demari (Simpkins) and Tyler (Huntley).”
Anae, who led the Pac-12 in sacks with 8.0, and Fotu both earned first-team all-conference honors. Blackmon is a two-time All-Pac-12 defensive back.
