More than 8,000 Fugitives Arrested in Nationwide Sting Operation

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Thousands of the nation’s most violent offenders are of the streets after a six-week long operation. 
 
The United States Marshals Service arrested more than 8,000 fugitives, gang members, sex offenders and violent criminals during “Operation Violence Reduction 12” between February 1 and March 11. 
 
Among those arrests were 61 people in Utah. 
 
Investigators also seized 463 guns, more than $390,000  and more than 71 kilograms of illegal drugs. 
 
Marshals also recovered 17 children who had been abducted and reported missing.
