MOAB, Utah (News4Utah) –What started as an illegal parking situation turned into a marijuana bust in Moab.

On April 20, Moab City Police Department responded to the area of 300 South and 100 East on report of a possible illegal camper.

The responding officer found an unoccupied silver Volvo sedan and small camp trailer parked there. The officer saw a large vacuum sealed bag with a green leafy substance “consistent with the appearance of raw marijuana” through the window.

Officers later questioned Evan Brown, 26 after they saw him go inside the camper.

Police said Brown admitted to “giving away” the marijuana while “out at the bar.” After searching the car and camp trailer, officers recovered about 13 pounds of marijuana, a scale and plastic bags of various sizes.

Brown is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia.
