SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- Chances are there is someone in your life struggling with addiction. Whether it be yourself, your spouse, your children, your neighbor…we all know someone who is
10,000 Beds is hoping to change that. The non-profit organization that works with people facing addiction by getting them into treatment with scholarships.
“Addiction is affecting every family. Every neighborhood. Every community,” Founder Jean Krisle said. “When we walk down the street and talk to people and they see our 10,000 Bed logos and we ask ‘Has your family been affected?’ the answer is always yes.”
Krisle says the organization is called 10,000 Beds because that is their ultimate goal.
“By 2025 we would like to have awarded 10,000 scholarships,” she said.
At the end of the month, they will be celebrating recovery during a gratitude gala.
At the gala organizations and those in recovery will be recognized for making a difference in the addiction and recovery space.
News4Utah alumni Randall Carlise will be receiving the Spirit of Recovery Awards and our own Nicea DeGering will host the event.
The gala is October 27th at the Natural History Museum of Utah. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $100.
