The annual unofficial Star Wars holiday is coming to the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City. The planetarium will celebrate “May the Fourth Be With You” all day long on Saturday. Joseph Dane joined Brian Carlson on Good Morning Utah to talk about some of the day’s events.
Some of the activities on May 4th include:
- $4 movies all day
- 501st Legion cosplay characters
- Costume contest at 4 p.m. for guests
- Augmented Reality photo experience where people can take photos with a character or wearing a mask of a character
- BB-8 Droid remote control activities
The planetarium also has an event coming up on Saturday, May 11 for International Astronomy Day.
Activities include:
- Day time Star Party in The Gateway 2-6 pm with Sun viewing through solar telescopes
- Astronomy-themed science activities inside Clark Planetarium from 2-6 pm
- Night time star party hosted by Salt Lake Astronomical Society, starting at 8 p.m. at Stansbury Park Observatory Complex (viewing of Eta Aquariid Meteor Shower)
