Man charged in Mariah Woods’ disappearance makes first court appearance

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The man charged in the disappearance of Mariah Woods made his first appearance in court Monday.

Earl Kimrey, the live-in boyfriend of Mariah Woods’ mother, was arrested on Friday; the body of the missing three-year-old was found Saturday.

Kimrey’s charges include concealment of a death and obstruction of justice.

His court appearance took place in the Onslow County Courthouse, and his next court date was set for December 18.

His bond was left at $1,010,000.

District Attorney Ernie Lee said additional charges could be filed.
