NEWCASTLE, Utah (ABC4 UTAH) A man wanted for questioning in a Nevada homicide led Iron County deputies on a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon.
It ended on Highway 50, just west of Newcastle after the suspect’s car ran out of gas near 2400 East.
Lt. Del Schlosser said the 31-year-old man led police on a pursuit that lasted ten miles and reached more than 100 miles per hour in Utah.
The chase began with Nevada Highway Patrol south of Caliente, NV. He allegedly crossed into Utah and Iron County deputies caught up with the suspect near SR 18 and Highway 56.
After the car would no longer run, the man gave up willingly, according to Lt. Schlosser.
The suspect has felony warrants out for his arrest, as well as recent assault charges. He is also wanted for questioning in a recent Nevada homicide, according to Lt. Schlosser.
