Man arrested after allegedly trying to lure minors

ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4 News)- One Southern Utah community is relieved after police say a man who tried to lure a group of juvenile girls is arrested.

Jefferey Dustin Lambert was taken into custody this morning in St. George near the campus of Dixie State University.

The incident happened Wednesday when Lambert allegedly approached the girls offering them candy and asking them to go to a party.

Sgt. Tiffany Atkin with the St. George Police says an adult arrived just in time.

“One of the mothers of the girl’s arrived to pick up the girls and saw this interaction. And she was able to take the girls and put them in with her, keeping them safe.”

After that, authorities said Lambert threatened a fast food restaurant off Sunset Blvd in St. George. They were apparently severe enough, that the charge of terroristic threats was added to the list Lambert faces. He was booked into the Washington County Jail.
