M.I.T. engineer invents a snowblower that can be controlled or programmed to work on its own

BOSTON, Massachusetts — Dane, Kouttron, an M.I.T. engineer invented a way to beat the winter blues while clearing away the snow.

A googly-eyed snowplow clears the snow all by itself, allowing you to stay warm and toasty indoors. Kouttron built the gadget to be operated by remote control or programmed to work on its own.

It features an obstacle-avoiding system, not from the googly but from cameras installed on the snow blower.  The robot is still  a work in progress as Kouttron continues to test the bot. He has no current plan to capitalize on his invention.
