Nursing mothers protest local Hobby Lobby

News
OREM, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)- About 40 nursing mothers gathered at the Hobby Lobby in Orem Saturday calling on the store to educate the employees about the legal rights of breastfeeding moms.

This all stemmed from a run in Brenda Morgan, a nursing mother, had with a store manager.

Morgan said she asked the assistant manager where the nearest bench was so she could nurse her son when the manager told her that they send nursing mothers to the bathroom.

“I said, ‘Do you eat in the bathroom?’ and she kind of just looked at me and said no. So I said, ‘Exactly and neither will my son,’” Morgan explained.

Morgan claims the employee threatened to have her escorted from the store. She wants an apology and for the store to spell out the rights of nursing mothers.

Hobby Lobby has not yet commented on the protest or the issue of nursing moms.
