UTAH (News4Utah) – This Memorial Day holiday the Utah Highway Patrol is ramping up its efforts to stop the impaired drivers.
UHP will add an additional 74 DUI enforcement shifts statewide, which it hopes will help save lives this Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Their goal is to have zero fatalities this Memorial Day weekend.
This weekend also marks the beginning of the “100 Deadliest Days” of summer. It’s a time period when the most fatalities occur on Utah roads.
In 2017, 90 people died in crashes between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day.
