WVC police arrest fugitive wanted on domestic violence charges

WEST VALLEY  CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A fugitive who police said is wanted on domestic violence charges was found and arrested Tuesday night.

Juan Manuel Hernandes was arriving at a home near 3273 West Montrone Drive just after 7:30 p.m. when West Valley Police spotted him. 

When officers tried to make contact with him, he ran away and barricaded himself inside the home.

Police got permission from the homeowner to enter the home. When they entered, officers found Hernandes hiding in a closet. 

Hernandes was taken into custody by an officer with the help of a K9. Officials say he has an outstanding warrant related to a previous domestic violence incident.
