Women’s March held in Salt Lake City Saturday morning

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – In conjunction with the Women’s March on Washington, and additional marches all around the country, Salt Lake City is hosting their event Saturday morning. 

The event starts at 10:00 a.m. at Washington Square Park and is expected to end with a march to the Utah State Capitol where marchers will hear from guest speakers.

According to www.peopleforunity.com, the march is meant to be in solidarity to “raise and empower Utah’s diverse community of women to lead the fight for pay equity, women’s health, family planning, affordable child care, and equal representation in all fields.”

“We will march with and as immigrants, those with diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native and Indigenous people, black and brown people, people with disabilities, the economically impoverished, and survivors of sexual assault” their statement reads.

Everyone is welcome to the event. 

10:00 AM- Event start/Opening statement
10:30 AM- March Start
11:30 AM- Speakers Start 
1:00 PM – Event Ends
