SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A woman is in police custody after a robbery turned into an assault Wednesday morning in Salt Lake City.
It all started when officers were called to the scene of an assault at 12:25 a.m. near 819 West North Temple in Salt Lake.
After investigating, they found out the fight was a continuation of a robbery that happened when 28-year-old Shilonna Jackson allegedly demanded money by force from another woman while at a nearby 7-Eleven, then attacked her.
After the victim lef the store, police say she realized she was missing some property and went back to confront Jackson.
Charging documents say Jackson then damaged the victim’s car by tearing off the license plate.
Jackson also refused to give her name while police were trying to investigate the incident, according to police.
Jackson has been booked Into the Salt Lake County Jail and has been charged with robbery, criminal mischief and failure to disclose identity.
