Woman injured in Taylorsville drive-by shooting

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (News4Utah) – A woman is in critical condition after a shooting in Taylorsville Tuesday evening.

It happened near 4900 South 1950 West.

Unified police said a car showed up and someone fired multiple shots into a home hitting a 48-year-old woman.  

Police are still looking for the shooter.  A black car was seen leaving the scene however the make and model are not known.

“It’s really concerning any children could be in the area and random shootings like this could put other innocent people can be hurt and that’s concerning that’s why whoever did this we really need to make sure we take them off the street as quick as possible,” said Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera. 

Police said they are in the early stages of the investigation and they don’t know the motive behind the shooting. If you know anything about the shooting, call Unified Police Department at 801.743.7000.
