Woman injured in skiing accident in Big Cottonwood Canyon

BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah (ABC4 News) – A 24-year-old woman is recovering in a hospital after an accident in Big Cottonwood Canyon on Saturday

Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke said the woman suffered a broken leg and was unable to get herself down from the area. 

The woman was with a group of people and was able to get a cell signal and call 911.

A portion of Big Cottonwood Canyon was temporarily shut down to allow a medical helicopter to land so the woman could be transported to the hospital. The road has seen been reopened.
