UPDATE: The woman injured was air-lifted to the University of Utah hospital late Friday night. She underwent a successful operation Saturday morning and is currently medically sedated.
WASATCH COUNTY (ABC4 News) – A woman was rushed to the hospital Friday night after she was injured in an explosion.
Wasatch County Fire spokesperson Janet Carson said a mother and her four children arrived at their family cabin on Lake Pines Drive in the Timberlakes sub-division in Wasatch County around 7 p.m.
Carson said upon arrival, the woman smelled gas. She left the kids in the car to investigate. When she went into the cabin, it exploded.
A neighbor, off-duty Unified Fire Authority Captain Eric Staten, witnessed the explosion and ran into the cabin. He was able to rescue the woman who was transported to University of Utah hospital in serious condition.
