SOUTH SALT LAKE (News4Utah) A woman is dead after she was hit by a TRAX train Monday night.

It happened just south of the Millcreek station at 210 West 3300 South.

Utah Transit Authority spokesperson Carl Arky identified the woman as 28-year-old Lorcia Sophya Gooden of South Salt Lake.

He says Gooden was on the tracks when she was struck by a northbound train around 9:45 p.m. 

Arky wanted to remind the public it is important to be alert at all times when around railroad tracks.
