SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A 28-year-old woman is facing dozens of felonies after she allegedly fired multiple shots at a home in Salt Lake City then crashed head-on into a car on the freeway.

Caysee Rai Rebolloso was charged on Thursday in 3rd District Court with 35 second-degree felony counts of discharge of a firearm (gang-related), one count of failing to stop at the command of an officer and one third-degree felony obstruction of justice.

According to charging documents, a detective was in the Salt Lake area in May 2018 when they heard multiple shots and then a vehicle speed away from the area. The detective followed the vehicle and was met with additional officers in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

The pursuit was terminated due to safety reasons.

A short time later, a report of a head-on collision on the SR-201 was called into dispatch. A vehicle traveling east in the westbound lanes struck a car occupied by a female driver who suffered very critical injuries in the crash. She has since undergone multiple surgeries.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rebolloso in the back seat with two broken legs. She told officers the driver of the car had fled.

A passenger in the car told officers Rebolloso was the driver and two men who were in the back seat ran. Officers also observed the floorboard of the drivers side had collapsed inward substantially, consistent with Rebolloso’s injuries.

A criminal record search shows Rebolloso has a long criminal history including charges of assult, forgery and possession of a controlled substance.
