Woman escapes with minor injuries after plunging into Pineview Reservoir

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A woman was able to escape with minor injuries after she crashed over an embankment and into Pineview Reservoir Saturday afternoon. 
 
Weber County Sheriff Sgt. Nealy Adams said deputies were called to a single-vehicle crash at about 3:45 p.m. Multiple witnesses reported seeing a car go into Pineview Reservoir.
 
According to the driver, a woman in her early 20s, and witnesses, the vehicle was south on Hwy 158 at approximately mile marker 1 when it left the roadway to the right and overcorrected as it came back onto the roadway. The driver lost control, and left the roadway, went through the pull out and over the embankment into the reservoir. 
 
 
Once the vehicle was in the reservoir the driver was able to take off her seatbelt and escape. She was taken to a local hospital by friends / family for minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
 
The car was eventually pulled from the reservoir Sunday morning. 
 
Utah is currently in the 100 deadliest days of summer.  Weber County Sheriff’s Office is asking everyone to please buckle up.
