Woman dies after car she was in struck a school bus in Cache County

CACHE COUNTY (ABC4 News) – One woman is dead after a crash involving a school bus in Cache County on Monday. 

According to Utah Highway Patrol, a man was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on SR-61 (1875 West Center) in Lewiston, when he struck the left rear portion of a school bus. 

None of the school bus’ 32 elementary school students were injured, however, two kids were checked for injuries by ambulance personnel and released to their parents.

The man driving the Corolla was transported to Cache Valley Hospital where he was treated and released with minor injuries. His passenger, 19-year-old Amber Nielsen Crouch of Lewiston, suffered severe head injuries and was transported to Cache Valley Hospital. She was then airlifted to Ogden Regional Hospital where she died. 

The crash is still under investigation.
