Woman claims Logan man she met on Tinder raped her

LOGAN (News4Utah)- A Logan man is behind bars after police say a woman he met on Tinder claims he raped her.

21-year-old Wyatt Dean Martin is facing charges of rape, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, possession of marijuana, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to the police report, Martin had been communicating with the victim on Tinder and Snapchat before meeting in person on September 22nd when he invited her over to his house for a party.

The woman told police when she got there he pressured her into drinking a shot of whiskey. This was the first time she had ever consumed alcohol, the police report stated.

“The victim then said she took a small drink that she was told was sweet tea and was later told it contained alcohol by [Martin]. The victim said that she began to feel abnormal and felt far more intoxicated than the shot of whiskey and a small drink of the sweet tea would cause,” the police report stated.

From there, the victim told police Martin took her into his bedroom and began kissing her and removing her shirt. She told police that she told Martin several times she did not want to have sex, but he did not listen.

The victim said she had tried to fight him off when he “got off of her and went to the closet and grabbed what she believed to be a strap and told her that if she didn’t quit moving he was going to tie her down,” the police report stated.

After he allegedly raped her, police say she texted a male friend for help.

Police say they were able to collect enough evidence to corroborate the victim’s claims, including a recorded phone call between Martin and the victim.
