Woman arrested in connection with Ogden apartment fire

OGDEN, Utah (News4Utah) Police have arrested a woman in connection with a fire at an apartment complex in Ogden Tuesday afternoon.

Kristilynn Thompson, 56, was booked into the Weber County Jail on charges of aggravated arson and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Emergency crews responded to the fire at the Towne Apartments at 2638 Adams Avenue in Ogden around 1:20 p.m.

When they arrived, crews reported heavy fire engulfing units on the second floor. Officers began to evacuate the complex. It was later discovered that a male victim was still located inside one of the apartments.

The victim was carried out and transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time. One other person was also taken to the hospital for unknown injuries. 

Crews extinguished the fire quickly and damage was isolated to six of the eighteen units.

The Red Cross responded to help the displaced occupants. Preliminary damage is estimated at $120,000.
