The Silicon Slopes Tech Summit 2018 is the largest and most prominent annual tech event in the state of Utah.  Dave Bateman, the CEO of  Entrata, joined us in studio Wednesday to discuss the event.

He said the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit has become one of the premier conferences in the country. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the summit including the CEOs of Adobe and Slack.

“We hate to see big conference like Outdoor Retailer leave the state, but the Summit will quickly fill the void. We anticipate it attracting 40,000 to 50,000 in just a few years,” Bateman said.

Bateman said one of the biggest challenges the state is facing right now is having enough talent to fill the thousands of open positions available.

“If we can meet the demand for talent, the industry will only continue to grow,” he said.
