What you need to know about Medicaid expansion in Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah- (ABC4 News) – After a years-long battle, Medicaid expansion will soon happen in Utah.

On Monday, the legislature gave final approval on SB96 to replace Proposition 3. A few hours later, Governor Gary Herbert signed it into law.

The first step is a partial expansion up to 100 percent of the federal poverty level on April 1, 2019.

Stacy Stanford, a health policy analyst with Utah Health Policy Project and Randall Serr, director of Take Care Utah join us this week on Inside Utah Politics to explain the ins and outs of how the new expansion will work.
