COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (News4Utah) – A warrant has been issued for a man accused of raping his girlfriends daughter starting when she was as young as 10 years old, according to police.

Charging documents show a warrant was issued for 38-year-old Michael Timothy Reeves on August 17 after officers were called to a high school on a report of sexual abuse of a child.

The victim, now 16, told police that between January 2013 and December 2015, when the girl was age 10 to 13, Reeves raped her multiple times.

The abuse stopped after Reeves went back to prison.

The victim’s mom told police she was aware Reeves was a registered sex offender but was using drugs and not in a good place when she made the decision to leave her daughter alone with the man.

Reeves was convicted in 2007 on two counts of attempted sexual abuse of a child and was sent to prison.
