Victim identified in fatal South Jordan accident

Local News

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A 61-year-old woman has died following a crash in South Jordan Sunday morning.

South Jordan police Lt. Matt Pennington said at about 10:30 a.m. they received a report of a serious accident on 10400 South Temple Drive (1300 West). A total of four vehicles were involved: a silver Mercedes SUV and a red Chevy pickup truck, both involved in the initial accident and two that were hit as a result of the crash.

Investigators say it appears the Mercedes was headed east on 10400 South and went through a red light, striking the Chevy pickup that was headed north on 1300 West. Both vehicles involved in the crash rolled.

The driver of the silver SUV, 61-year-old Marian L. Harrison, was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. Despite emergency services provided, Harrison died from her injuries at the scene.

No one else in the crash was injured. The woman who died did have two animals with her, one who ran from the scene and another that was taken by animal services until family could be notified.
