PROVO, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Not to be tested, some University of Utah students will invade the Brigham Young University campus Tuesday as they try to one-up the Cougars to fight climate change.
Last month Cougars went to the U’s campus and place purple flowers on the cars of U of U students. Purple is the color you get when the red “U” and the blue “Y” combine. The flowers came with a link to this website which features a stop motion challenge video called “United We Change”.
The video invited Utes to join BYU students in a campaign to bring awareness about climate change in Utah. Students signed up to collaborate on the next stunt.
That next stunt will come at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday when Utah students bring a custom-painted football and jersey to BYU’s campus. The half blue, half red helmet with the climate change slogan written on it will be placed near the Brigham Young statue. BYU students will be at the statue to ease any fears of Utes defacing the statue.
After this, the Utes and Cougs are planning to work together on their next awareness event. Anyone interested in helping out can go to www.theclimatecampaign.com for upcoming details.
