Utah’s Hogle Zoo goes straw-free

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) Utah’s Hogle Zoo is officially straw-less in an effort to remove all single-use plastics from the park. They have also removed plastic bags from the gift shop and some plastic shields on children’s toys.

Hogle Zoo conservationist Liz Larsen says, “Plastics pollution is a growing problem globally, it is impacting animals around the world, so here at the zoo we feel it’s really important to take a leadership role here in our community and say lets move away from disposable single use plastics and lets find some other solutions.”

The zoo encourages guests to bring or buy reusable options like the souvenir cups and crazy critter bottles.
