SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – The Utah Sports Hall of Fame Museum celebrated its grand opening at City Creek Center Saturday morning.

The museum is located on the northwest corner of City Creek Center. The Utah Sports Hall of Fame showcases 51 years of Utah’s Sports Honorees and brings to life the state’s sports history.

“These athletes and figures from across a broad spectrum of individual and team sports deserve to be showcased and celebrated, and their stories will provide inspiration to all who learn more about their accomplishments,” said Norma Carr, President of the USHOFF. “Since its inception, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation has honored some 232 Hall of Famers.”

Hall of fame officials invite all Utah natives and those who have made Utah their home to enjoy the rich history and achievement athletes, coaches, administrators, and contributors have created.

Museum displays not only honor Utah athletes but it educates patrons about the spirit of a state.
