Utah students will be out of school early this week for Fall break.
Typically, students are given the time off so teachers can attend the Utah Education Association Convention, but the Utah Education Association Board of Directors announced there will be no convention this year Instead, they stated the Association will “focus efforts on critical student needs in Utah public schools as addressed in the Our Schools Now funding initiative and Question 1 on the Utah November ballot”. So instead, students and teachers will be enjoying a long weekend in celebration of Fall break.
With schools out beginning Thursday, the Utah Department of Transportation expects roads to be busy.
John Gleason with UDOT joined us in studio to talk about road trip safety heading into the weekend.
