A new report from 24/7 Wall St. says Utah is one of the top 10 safest states in America.

The company curated the list by reviewing the number of violent crimes reported by the FBI in 2016.

According to these statistics there were 243 violent crimes per 100,000 Utah citizens and 309 adults per 100,000 were imprisoned.

They found 10.2 percent of people in our state live below the poverty line. The national averages is 14 percent.

“Of the 10 states with the highest violent crime rates, seven have a higher poverty rate greater than or equal to the nation as a whole, ” the company said.
