Utah officials, FBI to hold briefing on high-profile missing persons case

UTAH COUNTY (News4Utah) – Utah County authorities and the FBI are holding a press conference Thursday to make a statement on a local missing persons case.

The briefing with include the Utah County Sheriff, Provo Police Chief Ferguson and representatives of the FBI.  

There are multiple reports Wednesday evening that the body of Elizabeth Salgado was recently discovered. The 26-year-old had been missing since 2015. Utah County officials will not confirm that information at this time but her family has confirmed to News4Utah that her body has been found.

That is most likely to missing person case investigators will be speaking about Thursday.

There are several other active missing person cases out of that area. 

The news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday.
